Procedures and Maintenance to help keep your American Pool in top shape!Vacuum Procedure- Check filter pressure, backwash if pressure is 5# above normal pressure
- Close main drain valve
- Close valve on skimmer not using to vacuum
- Attach vacuum head, hose & pole
- Connect swivel end of hose to vacuum hear
- Remove basket from skimmer
- Put vacuum head & pole in pool
- Fill vacuum hose with water (put over return)
- Put vacuum hose in bottom of skimmer
- Vacuum pool with slow motions
- Open all valves
- Backwash filter
Backwash Procedure- Start water running in pool
- Turn pump off
- Change filter valve to backwash
- Turn pump on
- Run backwash 3-5 minutes
- Turn pump off
- Change filter valve to rinse
- Turn pump on
- Run on rinse for 30 seconds
- Turn pump off
- Change filer valve to filter
- Turn pump on
Empty Pump Basket- Turn pump off
- Close all valves
- Remove lid
- Rinse Basket
- Replace basket (align hole in basket with pump inlet hole)
- Replace lid
- Open all valves
- Turn pump on
Automatic Chlorinator- Check tables once a week
- Fill with 3" Tables
- Alwaysturn off chlorinator valve off or turn pool pump off
Polaris Pool Cleaner- Pool pump must be running with valve open to use Polaris
- Keep Polaris bag free of debris
Reminders- Keep water level halfway up on skimmer opening
- Never change positions on filter valve without turning pump off
- Check pump basket for debris at least once a week
- If you have an algae or cloudy water problem, along withchemicals, backwash filter 3 to 4 times per[er day, turnoff skimmers and run main drain only
- Store vacuum head with the brushes up
- Keep vacuum hose, head, test kit, etc. inside
