Procedures and Maintenance to help keep
your American Pool in top shape!

1. Check filter pressure, backwash if pressure is 5# above normal pressure
2. Close main drain valve
3. Close valve on skimmer not using to vacuum
4. Attach vacuum head, hose & pole
5. Connect swivel end of hose to vacuum hear
6. Remove basket from skimmer
7. Put vacuum head & pole in pool
8. Fill vacuum hose with water (put over return)
9. Put vacuum hose in bottom of skimmer
10. Vacuum pool with slow motions
11. Open all valves
12. Backwash filter

1. Start water running in pool
2. Turn pump off
3. Change filter valve to backwash
4. Turn pump on
5. Run backwash 3-5 minutes
6. Turn pump off
7. Change filter valve to rinse
8. Turn pump on
9. Run on rinse for 30 seconds
10. Turn pump off
11. Change filer valve to filter
12. Turn pump on

1. Turn pump off
2. Close all valves
3. Remove lid
4. Rinse Basket
5. Replace basket (align hole in basket with pump inlet hole)
6. Replace lid
7. Open all valves
8. Turn pump on

1. Check tables once a week
2. Fill with 3" Tables
3. Alwaysturn off chlorinator valve off or turn pool pump off

1. Pool pump must be running with valve open to use Polaris
2. Keep Polaris bag free of debris

1. Keep water level halfway up on skimmer opening
2. Never change positions on filter valve without turning pump off
3. Check pump basket for debris at least once a week
4. If you have an algae or cloudy water problem, along withchemicals, backwash filter 3 to 4 times per[er day, turnoff skimmers and run main drain only
5. Store vacuum head with the brushes up
6. Keep vacuum hose, head, test kit, etc. inside
